Thank you for sharing this with me. I loved how you named your class 10 children for us in the newsletter, allowing me to know them and be hopeful for them as they move on in the world. I wish you the best and each and every one of the children at Thulir, love and learning.

I have been reading the updates on Thulir but this is probably the first time I did that at leisure and 'O' boy, the work that has gone by at Sittilingi strikes you. I also happen to read one of the longish comments by Ashsih Sharan Lal posted last year in October 2010 and that was thought provoking. I had the privilege of visiting Sittilingi for a short trip in September last year and meet up with Krishna (could not meet Anu since she was travelling). I must say I was maha impressed with what was going on there. I did meet up with Sanjeev and Anita - computer xperts - as well and it is indeed heartening to see a work of different kind being done there. I fully concur with whatever Ashish Sharan Lal has written. In a country like India where we currently have an ' ANNA HAZARE' fighting against corruption and has taken on the goverment on it; where we have just concluded a 'so called successful' World Cup cricket (did we really need that in the first place??) and where we have the next edition of IPL bonanza kicking off today (what a waste where we still struggle for the basic human needs even after more than 64 years of independence - from what ???) - it is commendable and an extremely humble effort on what is being done at Sittilingi. And when you relaize that Krishna and Anu have been doing this for the last 7 to 8 years - they are still in their early 40s - u can only raise a toast, clap and take your cap off for them. Simply a great effort by any stretch of standards. I can only pray to gad that if I can be given the qualities that HE has given to all those working in Sittiligi - may be I can try and come up with something similar some where close to where I live. I know it is not easy to be a Krishna or an Anu or a Sanjeev..... but u can always wish to be one and try & DO IT:-). I don' t know when will that happen but I surely intend visiting Sittilingi and spending at least a week there and try and see if I can be of any help to the TEAM out there. In the meantime, if there is anything that I can add, remotely from here in Noida / NCR, to whatevere already is happening in Sittilingi or assist the TEAM there, I will be more than happy. Krishna - do let me know
Once again - a great effort by Krishna and his team. My sincere congratulations and best wishes

It is indeed heartening and inspiring to see the work of Tulir. The phrase that got stuck in my memory after reading the news letter is -teach them ‘ to think with their hands’.
I realize how important it is to think with our hands. It is also wonderful to know that so many people are helping in this meaningful work.

Wishing you the very best

It's lovely to see your work - the exposure that the children get to different places, people and types of work while you provide the hands-on learning experiences.

"Gardening back the biosphere" - Suprabha's words - is really so meaningful and satisfying. But we have no space for it so enjoy it on our behalf too.

Carry on the good work and all the best,
In admiration,
Gurveen
