Now, they were back for a whole day packed with activities, reflections, reminiscences, life skills&#8217; sessions and games! It was the 5 day sports camp, first of its kind here, that has been in the works for a long time. For the first time in the valley, there was an all girls&#8217; Kabbadi team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Organized with the help of Mani, Santhosh and SVMT, this camp saw 108 registrations from every village in the valley. Coaches came from Bangalore and Thenur. Mani, Maasi, Suresh, Ramesh and Bharat initiated and co-ordinated the event locally. It was a HUGE success!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Glimpses from our school classes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;75 children from 11 villages now attend our school. The education here stimulates the head, heart and hands. We can already see a positive difference in their physical agility, balance and co-ordination. Mr. Suresh from Harur comes once a week to guide the children in Silambam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Practical Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Learning social studies can never be confined to four classroom walls, a bell and a timetable! It is best learnt from the society around.
